It is very hard for me to believe that our baby will be 3 on her birthday in August. I just wanted to openly thank God for giving me Lacy. I have never felt such joy as I did the day I found out I was pregnant. Brad and I had wanted a baby and almost gave up hope and then I found out I was pregnant. The Lord never lets us down. Sometimes he doesnt answer our prayers in the way or time we want, but he is always in control! Thank you Lord for giving me Lacy and allowing me to see, through her, how awesome you are! I also want to say a big Thank You to my mom! Thank you for putting up with all my hard headedness as a child, teenager, and young adult! Thank you for always being there no matter what time of day it was or what was going on at work to always listen to what I had on my mind. Thank you for being my Mom but most importantly Thank you for being my best friend. I love you and cherish you more than you will ever know!
I hope all you Mother's have a wonderful day on Sunday and remember to be Thankful that you are a Mother!
God Bless!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SgRQN5QF-II/AAAAAAAAAPk/xBp2HrUq2Zg/s200/sleep.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333476058350352514" />
"Lacy Ree only a few days old"

Spring is in the Air

Well, it has been a while since I last posted. The Burns' have been very busy creatures. Brad had foot surgury almost two weeks ago to permanently remove an ingrown toenail that has plagued him for years. He is still having issues with it and limping a little. He goes back to the pediatrist on Monday.

Miss Lacy Burns is now sleeping in a new big girl twin bed!! Yes! She got to where she would not sleep the entire night in her toddler bed anymore. I can't blame her, that bed did not seem to be that comfortable.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/ScvjI56s_HI/AAAAAAAAAPI/zSoWD6ez9eg/s200/lacy+bed.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317593527166499954" />

We also went to the St Paddy parade this past weekend. I do think it is a lot different than it use to be. It will probably be a few years before I go back. I spent most of my time trying to find a potty for Miss Lacy to use.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/ScvjSLJBv-I/AAAAAAAAAPQ/QqpZfv58DJ4/s200/lacyparade.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317593686408806370" />

Now we are gearing up for the Easter Bunny to come visit us in a couple of weeks.
Hope those who read this are all in good health and Blessed!

Glad This Weekend Is Over

Well, I think its safe to say I had a not so good weekend. Why you ask? Well, on Thursday I had to have two of my three wisdom teeth removed...yes I have caught some smack talk about how me having only three wisdom teeth explains everything. Hahaha :o)
Brad took me to have those out Thursday afternoon. I heard every horror story known to man. As of right this minute, I have not had one little problem with the extraction.(I am knocking on wood)
However, Thursday night my throat started hurting. I thought maybe it had something to do with my procedure. WRONG. I sounded like a frog crawled in my throat and was trying to die inside of it. I figured it would just get better if I took some over the counter drugs. Wrong. Saturday morning, I called Momma who had been keeping Lacy so I could recoup from the wisdom teeth removal. She told me to take my rear end on up to the MEA and get seen and she would keep Lacy one more day. After sitting in the MEA for almost 2 hours, I got sent back to another waiting area! Oh what joy! I finally go to a room and the doctor came in and wanted to do a strep test. Okay, that's fine. Forty minutes later, the doctor comes in and asks me if I had a nurse come in and swab my throat...after I tell him a big fat no, a nurse comes in swabs my throat and is very apologetic. Long story short..no strep and its bronchitis. After sitting there for almost 4 hours, I take my prescription to Kroger.
Also during all this time, Lacy has started riding her tricycle that is at my parents house. My poor mother has to go to the bathroom so she tells Lacy to go see Papaw. Apparently Lacy didn't want to go to see Papaw so she decided being the daredevil that she is, she would just ride the bike down to the bathroom regardless that there are stairs. Poor mom could not even pee because Lacy wrecked and landed on top of the bike. Thankfully Lacy was not hurt just upset that her attempt failed. I am not surprised, I have caught her before on her tricycle at my parents contemplating this adventure. She knows no fear and Brad and I figure its only a matter of time before we visit our local ER.
Well, she must have been reliving this event early this morning, because she woke up around 5:30am crying and telling me she fell off her bike.
So I am hoping this week is event and sickness free. Hope all is well with everyone!

Fireproof

For Valentine's Day, Brad and I went with some of his coworkers and their wives to a local church, Lakeshore, to have a steak dinner and to watch Fireproof. If you are married and have not seen the movie, we highly recommend it! It was honestly one of the best films I have seen in a long time. It goes to show that they can make a quality movie without any sexual references or foul language.
There are too many couples today getting married and divorced for the wrong reasons and this movie helps to point that out. Marriage is tough. This movie helps to point out the difficulties all couples face. Not a single person left Saturday night with a dry eye, Brad and I included.

On another note, poor Brad has had a time with the crud. He caught the strep from Lacy and had to get a shot on Thursday. Saturday he was still feeling awful, so he went back to MEA and he found out that the strep was gone but he now had an Upper Respiratory Infection. He is on various forms of cough suppressants.

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day and everyone is all in good health.
Be Blessed.

Strep

Well I had big plans for my little family this weekend. I always try to plan a family activity on Brad's weekends off. She doesnt see alot of him on the weekends he works so in my mind this is a way to make up for it. We were going to take her to her first movie, Hotel for Dogs. However, she started throwing up Friday night until 5am Saturday morning. She also kept telling us she had a booboo on her throat. We went on and took her and she has strep throat. I made the call to give her a shot instead of medicine. I know some people are against shots but I wanted her to feel better a.s.a.p.. It breaks my heart when my baby tells me that she doesnt feel good. Her poor father is terrified of needles, so I held her down while she got the shot..it broke my heart. I think she is feeling some better today. I took my time with her this morning, letting her sleep in. She is still coughing up some mucus but at least she is not throwing up anymore.
Since we could not take her to the movies, her father went to Blockbuster and rented her Wall-E. About an hour into it, she told us good night and went to her bed(which was still in our room from the other night). So Brad and I watched it..the only thing I did not like about the movie was the fact that his sidekick is a Roach...and anyone who knows me knows how I feel about those.
Hope everyone has a good week and stays well, it seem everyone is cathing something.

Big Girls Don't Cry!

Well the day has finally come, Lacy Ree Burns is now a BIG girl. I can honestly say this because she is potty trained and has been for the months. About two weeks ago, her Momma made her give up the pacy. Brad and I really thought this was going to be a big struggle, but it wasn't; not at all. She didn't even cry. I simply explained that now that she was a big girl, she did not need a pacy anymore. If she wanted to keep it she was going to be a baby. There has been no looking back since. Yeah!
Valentine's day is fast approaching. I do believe that it is a "marketed" holiday. You should show your spouse you love them everyday, not just one day a year. Don't get me wrong, I use to LOVE to get flowers...now I go by the philosophy that I have to pay for those now as well! LOL
Brad and I are going to a local church to have a steak dinner and watch the movie "Fireproof". I am excited. We are going with two other officers that work with Brad and their wives. I have heard awesome things about this movie. It is said to have made couples wake up regarding their marriage.
Well I hope everyone is having a great week!

Prayer Request

I am sure most of you have heard, Gene Mashburn's home burned down. Gene has been Brad's Lt at Clinton since he moved over there from Jackson. I am still in such shock for them. Brad and I had date night on Friday and his cell phone kept buzzing so he finally looked and found out about Gene's home. Thankfully no one was hurt, but the house is a total loss. I just can not imagine what they must be going through. It has almost been a year since Mallory had to have her brain surgury and now this. Please pray for them during this difficult time. I believe from what Gene has told Brad they are staying in a Hotel in Clinton right now.

On a lighter note, we went to Amerigos after church yesterday. As always, Ms Molly(Lacy's Sunday School Teacher) had put her work in her backpack. This paticular Sunday was a fold up flap sheet with a picture of Jesus. On our way to the table she saw this picture of Jesus and wanted it. When our food came, I had ordered Lacy Fettucini, I noticed she was laying pieces of it by the picture. I asked her what she was doing and she told me she was giving some to Jesus. I told her that was nice and she informed me that Jesus Loves Her. Is that not the most precious thing ever?! I just had to share. Hope everyone is well and has a Blessed week.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well its hard to believe but 2009 is here! I am sure we have all made our New Years resolutions. Mine are the same as every year: Loose weight, Be a better Mother, Be a better Christian and so forth.

Christmas was great...we all got something we wanted. Lacy got way to much stuff as expected, but her father and I wouldn't have it any other way. Momma finally got Brad his IPOD and that boy has been in heaven. He has downloaded so many songs.
We really do not have much news, which is a good thing I reckon. Michael left for school this past Friday. I hate I didn't get to see him off. Everyone say a little prayer for Jackson and Juli during this time until they meet up with Michael in a few months. All us mothers know how hard it can be when its just you and a little one. I have never had Brad gone for more than a week and it can be very draining when its just me and Lacy.

I hope everyone is having a blessed week, I don't know about y'all but I am SO READY for this rain to go! It really makes it hard to get out of the bed in the morning.

Merry Christmas!!!!

Our stockings are hung by the Chimney with care, in hopes that St Nick will fill them with?????
Okay seriously, tomorrow is Christmas. Its about the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave each and everyone of us the most precious gift of all...eternal life.

I believe we are all finally ready for Santa. As most of you know, Lacy does not like Santa, she will openly tell you that he scares her. I told her last night that if she has been a good girl, which Momma and Daddy thought she had, that Santa was coming to see her and bring her presents and candy...this did bring a small smile to her face. She understands the concept of presents...she tells us and Memaw & Papaw that the presents under each of our trees is hers.
I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and remembers the true meaning of Christmas
God Bless

Update on Brad

I have people ask about Brad, he is fine Praise the Lord! The ultrasound on his kidneys was clean. Monday I had to take him to have a camera placed in his urethra to have his bladder looked at and it was as healthy as it could be. For those of you who do not know why he had to have all this down, back when he had the flu about a month ago they found too much blood cells in his urine. They made him come back and they still found blood in his urine, so they referred him to a urologist. The day he visited the urologist the doctor told him it was way too much blood for someone his age so they sent him on to the hospital to have his kidneys looked at. They are treating him for Prostatitis. He will do antibiotics to clear up the inflamation that may or maynot be causing the blood cells in his urine and he will also take some other medicine to help flush him out. He will go back to the urologist at the end of January to have everything checked out again. Thank you all who asked and prayed with us. It means more than you will ever know!!

Soapbox Time

Well Christmas is fast approaching. Hard for me to believe that this will be our Baby's 3rd Christmas. She is changing so much. She is the best present I have ever been given. Sometimes Brad and I just sit back in awe at how much she is learning. It is truly like living your childhood again.
I have to get on a soapbox right now. Today I have really had enough of various people's attitudes. I always try to remember that you never know what is going on in some one's life, so I always try to be polite, show a little extra kindness, or try to hold my tongue when they say something hurtful. I know everyone in this country is affected in some way by our economic crisis. If something is going on in your personal life or at your work, do not take it out on someone else. You never know what THAT person may be going through. As time goes on I am seeing who really matters and who never really did whether its family, friends, coworkers, or church members. Granted we all make mistakes and at one point or another, we all are going to have a bad day. For the most part, as Christians, people see Christ in us through our words and our actions.
With Christmas fast approaching and the stress of the Holidays, its important to remember why we are all here and who we should all give Thanks to for our various Blessings.

Breakfast With Santa

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 128px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SUEmNxC3KSI/AAAAAAAAANw/gWxRujlroVo/s200/bilde.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5278542256200427810" />
I just had to post this. The Clintonnews.com has a pic of Brad and Dad eating pancakes. The Junior Auxilary of Clinton puts it on every year. Mom and Dad were taking Jack back to Michael & Juli that morning, so they decided to eat with Santa before they left. Jackson enjoyed it. Jack told Santa that his father was a Lt in the Navy and Santa told Jack that his Daddy is a hero...which made Jack really happy. Lacy and I did not go because she was still sick with her tummy and plus the fact that in Lacy's world Santa is not her best friend. She does not like to get anywhere near Santa.

Christmas Is Coming

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/ST1QglmHnQI/AAAAAAAAANY/zkt7I_MlEWo/s200/l_c926237df0b0413d93b22011351a8f98.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277462859126119682" />
Well only about 2 more weeks until Santa comes to town! I think we are ready for Mr Claus. I have a few more gifts to purchase but then we are done. Well Lacy had to go back to see Dr Russell on Sunday. Thankfully him and Rhonda were working the after hours clinic. Her diarrhea keeps coming back, we get better and then it goes back to water. Brad and I were up with her during Saturday night. Her potty chair is in our bathroom so she would come to our room and tell us she had to potty. Thankfully she is potty trained so she doesn't seem to have an accidents in her pull ups. They are now treating her for Giardia. Dr Russell seems to think this may be what she has since it comes and goes.
I have been in the baking mood. I think I have made 3 dozen Christmas cookies this weekend. I looked this morning and we only had 5 cookies left. They are really good. Lacy and I did not leave the house at all Saturday. Ms Tika and Ava came over and played together. After we went to see Dr Russell we went with Momma to Target. Lacy had fun, Memaw bought her a toy flower that was a weapon and she was "getting" Momma and me. After we got home she had to "get" Sam the Cat. He was really thrilled!
We did go see Baby Luke on Sunday afternoon. He is too sweet. Lacy just loves Luke. She wanted to hold him...it was all she talked about on our way over there, however, she got a little distracted playing with his swing and toys. We had gone over there earlier in the week so Brad could see him since he had the flu when he was born. Lacy held for a while..she loved it. We decided she would make a great Big Sister one day...one day far off!LOL!

Help!!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/STRCRJDFC_I/AAAAAAAAANQ/SRt91eZTzD4/s200/untitled.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274913925811735538" />
I am really beginning to wonder about us?? Is my little family the only ones who are getting sick these days?? Tuesday night Lacy started having severe diarrhea. Friday it seemed she was on the mend. Well as soon as I start bragging, she starts back coughing. We were at the hospital Saturday for the birth of Luke and she coughed her little head off. Meanwhile, Brad had been feeling really yucky. Friday night Brad was running a fever so he decided to go on and go to MEA in the morning. He calls me at the hospital, while we are waiting on Hannah, and tells me he has the flu?!! The kicker is he got a flu shot not barely two weeks ago. Lacy and I come home from the hospital and she is coughing so hard she throws up on me, twice. After all this, I made an appointment for her to go to the after hours clinic on Sunday. They made sure she doesn't have the flu, so they assume it is a viral infection of some kind making her cough again. We get another form of cough syrup which seems to be helping. After we get home from the grocery store, her diarrhea comes back! She has been going like there is no tomorrow since yesterday. I feel so bad for her. I have been pushing liquids in her so hopefully she will not get dehydrated. She is spending the day with her Memaw so I can get some work done. Brad is still all couped up in the guest bedroom trying to keep me from getting sick, since (knock on wood)I am the only one who is still somewhat well. I just don't understand it...we have been sick since November 1. Well at least we are saving .10 cents off our gas each time we spend $50 at the pharmacy. I am trying to look on the bright side.
On a happier note...Hannah had Luke. He is too cute for words. I could literally eat him up. She had a very smooth delivery until the end..when it came time to push his heart rate dropped so they did a c section. He was 21in long and 8lbs. I have included a pic of me holding him. Hannah is doing good. He was so alert when he popped out. I have never seen a baby that wide eyed. God is good all the time!

Turkey Day is Coming!

Only 3 more days until we break out the stretch pants! LOL I love Thanksgiving, for me its the onset of the Christmas Holidays. I love everything about the Holidays. Lacy and I decorated the house Friday night for Christmas. After I got the tree up and decorated she went, Oh Wow..Pretty! We have had to have a few "discussion" about the ornaments and how they stay on the tree.
Lacy and I are finally on the mend. Praise the Lord! After about $200 on doctor visits and prescriptions for us both, I told Brad that could be our Christmas presents to each other! :o)
Yesterday I had a girly afternoon with Jeannie and Jenny, we went to see Twilight. Jeannie and I both had read the books, so we were anxious to see the movie. All night Monday at Bunco it was all we could talk about. It was fun to go to the movies with girls because I didn't have to sit threw a shoot em up movie.
Well today is Michael's 34th birthday, hard to believe my big brother keeps getting older and older...its amazing how I am not aging at all. I hope he is having a great birthday and look forward to seeing him and his crew on Thanksgiving. Lacy is so excited that cousin Jack is coming.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Some Relief!!

I am hoping and praying we are now going to get some relief. As most of you know, Lacy has been battling the crud for almost three weeks now. She has had decadron, zithromax and various cough medicines with almost no help in getting her well.
Monday night when I came home from Bunco she was in Brad's lap crying saying her ear hurt. I gave her some medicine and put her in our bed and let her watch Dora.
I ended up sleeping on the couch so that her and Brad could get some sleep..plus I hadn't been feeling well myself.
Took her to see Dr Russell on Tuesday afternoon and he had to clean out her ear in order to see if had an infection. He ended up scraping her ear drum which caused her to start bleeding out of her ear. She was in so much pain she peed all over herself and me. I felt so bad for her. She did so good. He ended up giving us ear drops, Omnecief for 10 days, and some other form of cough syrup.
By the time we got home, my ears were hurting..its been a long time since I have had an earache..I usually just get the popping from all the sinus pressure. I was up and down all night with my ears and my throat. I decided to go on and go to the doctor because I have not been feeling well and I had taken some old antibiotics that I found with no help. So I go to the doctor and they took my blood and swabbed my throat for strep. They come back in and say you have walking pneumonia?! I was like how?? I haven't even really coughed. I started noticing over the weekend I was having problems breathing when I laid down but I didn't think anything of it. After talking with the doctor and discussing what all Lacy has had, I came to the conclusion that this is more than likely what Lacy had. It makes sense to me b/c hers had been mostly in her chest. I called her peditrician when I left and they said if this is what she has had this whole time, the Omneceif should knock it on out. Since she has been on the antiobiotics since Tues she has barely coughed Praise the Lord! I feel fine except for being tired and my chest hurting. We have to get well soon..only 6 more days until Turkey Day!

Nothing new

Well not much has happened since last week. Lacy is still coughing. Brad called her nurse and she called in some different cough medicine, so hopefully it will knock the crud on out. Although we are still being greeted by our little visitor b/t 3 and 4 am in the morning. I started taking her back to her room instead of letting her sleep with us. At first it was like World War III, but last night I just told her to go back to her bed and she went with no tears. Finally some progress!!
Momma is finally feeling better. Its so good to see her feeling so much better. She says its the best she has felt in years. She and I think the Pleurisy might have been what was bothering her last summer when the diagnosed her with asthma because she has not felt good for so long
Only one more week until Turkey day. Hard to believe the holidays are fast approaching. Seems like only yesterday it was Lacy's first Christmas.
Lacy is still doing so well with her big girl panties. She has been accident free for the past two weeks!
Well I hope everyone has a blessed week!

Finally!!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SRhQdD8IYZI/AAAAAAAAAM4/m6W39bdUQ0k/s200/41lqObkUT0L._AA400_.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267048224413737362" />

I think its pretty safe to say that Miss Lacy is finally potty trained!!!! Yeah!!! I am so happy and proud of her. I finally just started putting her in panties and after a few times of peeing on herself, she realized she didn't like it. I have to give a very special thanks to Mrs Val Val at her daycare for helping us. Brad and I just said the other day at how good she is doing at her new daycare. She is even counting in Spanish! The best part for me is all the activity worksheets she brings home...its nice to see that they are working with her and trying to teach all of the little two yr olds.
Lacy started coughing really bad this past week, so we went on to see Dr Russell. She is still kinda sickly. I got a prescription filled yesterday that they told me to hold off on getting, kind of a wait and see if she needed it. Hopefully this will knock it on out. I am not feeling so good myself, I think its just part of what she has along with my sinus'. I did find some older antibiotics from this summer so I started taking them this morning.
We bought Lacy's and her cousins Christmas presents this past weekend. I love everything about Christmas. The real meaning, the birth of our Savior, and the holiday traditions. I love decorating and just looking at various decorations.
Hope all is well and everyone is in good health! I can not tell you how many people stopped us to tell us how gorgeous she is. She loved trick er treating, she even got to where she would knock on the door. She was very polite and told everyone who gave her some candy Thanks! Our church had is Harvest Carnival on Halloween night. I am still so amazed about how many people came! Every parking spot was full. Sunday morning they said over 400 people came. I am so glad we attend a church that reaches out to its members and the community.
We are now in full fledged potty training. I am only going to put pull ups on her at nap time and bedtime. She did so good this weekend, only an accident a day. She likes wearing panties! She smiles every time you ask her if she has on panties.
Brad and I had an eventful morning, one of our neighbors cats got in our garage last night. Long story short, it tore up our garage door and hid in my car. This morning when Brad tried to leave to go to work the garage door came off the track and the cable was caught all in the door, which made my car stuck in the garage with no way out. Thankfully "The Door Man" came right at 8:20 and fixed it with in 10 minutes. As I was backing out of the garage, I look in my side mirror and see a cat tail then a head. That stupid cat would not budge, Brad finally had to get a stick to get it out of my tire well so I would not run over it.
I hope everyone has a blessed week! Dont forget to vote tomorrow!

This has been a Monday!!!

Oh my goodness has today been a day!! I went to the post office like I do everyday for the office. I go to get back into my car after getting the mail, I barely sit down and I hear bam! This older man had literally kicked his door open into my passenger side door! He saw that I was sitting there and said, Oh I didn't hurt it. I get out and look, he had already started walking away and I said Yes you did. So he came back and took his sunglasses off and saw all the black marks down the side of my door. He was very apologetic and at least gave me his info. Looks like we will be seeing about getting my door fixed. I swear..people now a days are in a hurry too much, driving too fast, and not paying attention.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SQYstF-JJaI/AAAAAAAAALw/MS8RCuMVauc/s200/l_c81c11d853ab4097aa6c9eb3349bdf72.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261942367837562274" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SQYsCabcJ1I/AAAAAAAAALo/PRJFhec93Fo/s200/l_badf96dc1dc04b33b1ec90318f16618c.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261941634594776914" />

On a lighter note, we took Lacy to see Elmo Live on Saturday, it was fun. She was kinda unsure at first but she really got into after intermission. We also went to our good friend Addi's birthday party. Lacy and Addison had so much fun as did we with Stacy and Johni! It was a nice day of fellowship with good friends.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SQYs0MC9GKI/AAAAAAAAAL4/o3N1xYgypJk/s200/l_c9b328c7a8814db6a203167b432e735b.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261942489727441058" />

Lacy drew us a picture the other night and it was this purple glob with legs, she informed us it was a roach. She is a mess...everyone say a prayer for me this week that I don't get to upset over my car...its not what really maters. This is a game where I sing I love you to her and she sings I love you too back to me. I asked her I said, Lacy who is your best friend?? She replied Momma, my heart just melt. I told her she was my best friend too. I hope we are always best friends.

We had Halloween Bunco on Monday night. It was absolutely hilarious! I think we all laughed so hard our heads hurt. I went as an 80's girl. I put my hair in a side pony tail and teased the mess out of it. I even tight rolled my jeans. My good friend Stacy went as a hippie, she looked hilarious..thanks to her daughters Hannah Montana wig. I picked her up, so when we were on our way we were stopped at a red light and the people next to us could not stop starring.

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. She has had two bad pull ups today. One when I picked her up from church nursery and the other from her nap. She has had none so far, praise the Lord! She has also had the attack of the green snot. I went to the dollar store to pick up some instant mash potatoes for her to eat tonight, I didn't want to go to the grocery store because I knew I would spend more than my budget would allow. While we were in there I found her a little highchair for her dolls. It was only 8 dollars, the funny thing is I thought it had Disney's princess' on it..nope its Princess Gems...which looks like ghetto fide princesses...but hey it was 8 dollars.
Well, its just me and Lacy this week. Bradley is gone to SWAT competition. I never knew they had such until he got on SWAT. I am just looking forward to not having to really cook this week. Lacy is happy with PB & J or chicken nuggets...sometimes I could go without eating dinner.
I took these pics of her today and on Friday. I dressed her Friday in one of her little Halloween outfits..she looked so cute. The other is her this morning after her chocolate donut(which may or may not have caused the upset tummy today). I don't know if you have ever had them, but the are delicious. Its the kind from Walmart's bakery. They are so good..I swear I could eat a whole box by myself and not even feel bad about it.
I hope everyone stays well and has a blessed week! Please say a prayer for me and Lacy this week that we both are alive and still breathing when our other love returns on Friday. Some of you might know why I say this if you witnessed what happened after church today. I have to remind myself every day that children really are a blessing and that they will not be 2 forever! :o)

Our Little Nudist

As most of you noticed this past weekend at the baby shower, our little Lacy is not shy at all about stripping down to nothing. She loves to run around our house naked after her bath. Brad and I have to really get on her about putting clothes on. Well this morning I am blow drying my hair and trying to wake up since I had a little visitor last night around 11:30pm. Anywho, I hear "Hey Momma"! So I say Hey Lacy, then I notice two little butt cheeks. I am now fully awake, "Lacy where are you pants?"..."in there". So I go to her room and there in her bed is her pull-up and pants. I try to explain to her that we have to wear our pull-up and pants because she is not potty trained yet..I dont think she cares..she just likes feeling the breeze. Brad has been battling it for over a week and still does not seem any better.
Lacy has learned some new words this week thanks to daycare..dumbie is one of them and shut up is the other. Shut up doesn't go over to well when she tells me to "shut up". She is so funny though..she watches everything people do and say. The other morning on our way to daycare, she had a care bear with her in the backseat. I hear her start getting on to the bear saying, "no no, be nice..ugly time out". It was so cute, then she proceeded to tell it that she was going to "spank its butt". That girl is a mess. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! She is still running fever today. I stayed home with her yesterday and took her to see Dr Russell. Bless her heart, he cleaned out her ears, swabbed her throat, and pricked her finger all in one hour. She did so well, she is such a trooper! After we got home, she ate and then I put her down for her nap and she slept from 12:30 to almost 6 that night. I was hoping her fever had broke, but on my way home from Bunco Brad called and said it was back up to 102.5. She stayed home with her Daddy today and it looks like she will again tomorrow since it went back up to 101.8. Hopefully she will be back on the mend tomorrow. Brad and I are both really lucky to work with such understanding people.

Fall

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SNcMk1W6b_I/AAAAAAAAAI0/fc-KPHg2gBg/s200/100_0963.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248677717661609970" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SNcMlKNqLcI/AAAAAAAAAI8/bQRcVNnWPFU/s200/100_0964.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248677723259940290" />
So this week was my 28th birthday. It was really a good one! Thank you to all! I posted a pic of my BEAUTIFUL flowers from the best brother, sister-n-law, and nephew anyone could have.
I am so happy its like almost Fall. I love Fall...out of all the seasons, I love it from now to Christmas. I got up early this morning before Sunday School to clean off the porch and put out my Happy Harvest stuff. Brad and I have already gone through 3 or 4 bags of candy corn since they started putting all the stuff out.
Momma and I were bragging just yesterday at how Lacy has not been sick in so long(4 wks). Most of you might remember we were sick from the end of June until the first of August. Well, I got home from Bible study tonight and she came and gave me a hug and I noticed she felt warm. Brad said he had noticed it but had not taken her temp, so I did...102.8! I doped her up with Tylenol and Motrin. I am so hoping she will be better in the morning. She acts fine. Brad went to McDonald's and to get some more Motrin so her and I laid up in our bed and watched Barney...that's where the other pic came from. Hope all is well with everyone...Be Blessed and stay Blessed!

P S
I found this graphic..I guess everyday could be Candy Corn Day at the Burns' house

I Wear My Sunglasses....

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SMnNDBUlSHI/AAAAAAAAAG4/uEo-_f-sLEE/s200/100_0961.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5244948692827719794" />

the other night Lacy was sitting at the table and she found her sunglasses while she was eating. We both had to pick up a few things, so we decided we would eat at the Subway inside. So we are sitting there talking and I noticed a young couple come in w/ a small boy. Well, the dad sat the little boy down at the table and as most small children do, he hopped down. All of the sudden, the dad turns around and hits the little boy so hard on his bottom everyone in the Subway, people working and people eating, just stopped what they were doing. I don't think we could all believe that he just hit this baby that hard. The little boy is screaming in pain and looking at me and my coworker and there was this look on his face that just was screaming "help me". My heart is just hurting for this little fellow. I called Brad and I am trying to see if there is anything he can do, he asked me a whole bunch of questions and basically said no..if Brad had seen it or any other officer..yes..but me no.
Children are a blessing. They are gifts from God. There are millions of couples on this Earth who would give anything for a child of their own and are unable to have children. Then you have people like this who are so ignorant that they don't know a blessing if it is sitting there looking at them.
I have been praying since lunch non stop for that little boy and his family. I am not one of those parents who does not believe in spanking..I believe the punishment should fit the crime...and a beating in Subway for hopping out of a chair is un-called for. As Brad told me, Ashley I wish you could put on a cape and save the world, but you can't honey. I know that too...but I wish I could like I reckon all of us do.

Mr & Mrs Burns

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SL7TAbanWOI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/Z5LvETNdrMk/s200/l_4dbda51534f8f8c41ce0526222b34a6d.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241859020618684642" />

Well today is mine and Bradley's 4 year wedding anniversary. After a quick bathroom break, I get in the truck and we are be bopping down the road and he says look in the console...and there is a present. I open the pretty little pink box and there is a "Liz Henry" floating heart necklace. I have been completely surprised by him. Thank you Lord for Brad and for him being the GREAT man that he is!

The Right Thing

Brad and I have been pretty sure we made the right decision by moving Lacy to another daycare a few weeks ago. Well, the past few days have shown us that we have. She can now say her ABC's word for word and count to ten....then the kicker was she said the blessing tonight. We were pulling out of the gas station and we hear her saying something so we look at her and she has her hands together by her mouth saying "God is Great, God is Good, Amen". Brad and I are thrilled..it really seems she is learning so much more there. She still asks about a few people but we tell her she will see them again. We had her party on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. Thank you to all that came and the wonderful presents. Lacy decided during present time that it was time to eat, which left me to open the presents alone along with the help of her friend Skylar.
As we all knew she would...she boo hooed when we sang "Happy Birthday"...thankfully Dad got it on tape so we can show her when she is older.
She did decide that the bags her gifts came in made much better toys...she had fun emptying them and refilling them with this and that.

Well tomorrow is the big day...Lacy's 2nd birthday party!! Me, Momma, and Brad got a lot of running around to do. I hope Lacy will have fun and get excited once she see the Dora decorations. Monday is her actual birthday...seems like only yesterday. Me and Momma sitting in the Doctor's office, me not feeling so well...then Bradley bursting with excitement. Oh the memories.....

Lacy has completed her first week at the new daycare. I don't really know what she is thinking. She is a little emotional when I have dropped her off, but when I call they say she perks up a little bit and plays. She gets upset again when the other Momma's and Daddy's start showing up..she wants to know where hers are? But every time Brad and I have picked her up she has been happy. As we all know, none of us like change, and none of us like being the "NEW KID".

Potty Training is going..she doesn't really understand the difference between "1" and "2"...although we have done "2" twice in her potty!!!! Brad and Ashley are really happy about this!! Sometimes she will sit and stand up and say "I poo pooed"..she starts clapping and then you notice, she didnt do anything. Oh Well..at least we are on the road to big girl panties.

As always, I hope you all are BLESSED and stay BLESSED!

Our Weekend

Well, Lacy had to go back to the doctor on Friday. Thursday night she got a fever of 103. Brad and I both were up with her...she finally fell back asleep around 5:30am(the time Daddy has to go to work). We went to the doctor and they think she just never got over the crud from a month ago along with a virus that he had been seeing a lot of. The children run really high fevers and just don't feel well, which makes sense because she kept telling me her head hurt. I had a busy weekend so thankfully Momma would come and watch her..which as everyone knows that makes Lacy happy..that baby LOVES her MeMaw. Saturday I went to a memorial for my dear friend Erin's sister. My heart still aches for this family. Then on Sunday our Sunday School class was having a baby shower for a girl in our class. I always love going to baby showers..there is nothing like the glow on the mom's faces and the excitement of a new baby!!
Today was Lacy's first day at the new place. I hope she is having a good time. She acted like she wanted to play but when she saw me trying to leave she got upset...the last thing I heard when the door shut was my baby screaming my name. I felt horrible...but hopefully when her daddy picks her up they will tell him she had a great day.
We are also gearing up for her 2nd Birthday. It will literally look like Dora threw up all over the place. We are having it at her favorite place...MeMaw and Papaw's house. Michael, Juli, and cousin Jack are coming over from Auburn..so she should be thrilled..Cousin Jack is her hero.
I hope all is well with everyone. Be Blessed and stay Blessed!

Pottying All the Time!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SKLj-iDtWgI/AAAAAAAAAC0/gJlo-bZOFpw/s200/dora.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233996380391692802" />
So Brad and I bought Miss Lacy her first potty chair on Saturday. Of course, it is a Dora potty chair. I started Monday night right after she finishes supper we go sit on the the potty chair. After several times of me saying " NO Lacy..do not scoot your potty chair across the bathroom", she will pee-pee in the potty. Of course her daddy and I make a big deal about it with clapping and saying "YEAH". On Monday she told us to "HUSH" but she got into it last night. I hope we don't have a hard time potty training her. One of her little friends that goes to the new daycare is potty trained and she is 3 months older than Lacy. Which makes Brad and I feel good about the "switch". I took Lacy by there on Monday night b/c I had to drop off some forms and they let Lacy look at her "new" room...she loved it..she wanted to stay and play with all the toys.

2 Yr old Portraits

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SJ-g1CEJSoI/AAAAAAAAACM/jlk1wAPeFMY/s200/Lacy+2+portraits+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233078124975573634" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SJ-g1bltIDI/AAAAAAAAACU/LfgsTHpmIW0/s200/Lacy+2+portraits+016.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233078131827220530" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SJ-g1RG291I/AAAAAAAAACc/y-KkN3f9WDg/s200/Lacy+2+portraits+021.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233078129013487442" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_udSb0O8V8gw/SJ-g2_XPKyI/AAAAAAAAACk/9tuYQUkyzGE/s200/Lacy+2+portraits+029.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233078158610082594" />
So we took Lacy on Saturday to have her two yr portraits done....it was horrible..she acted so bad. I dont know why she does it but she does..she is a "happy" child and normally I can not control her...she is running around having a GREAT time. Not Saturday..she cried and cried and cried. We were to the point of leaving...but we gave her a few minutes to play and got the last shots. I have to say this photographer was very good. He had the patience of Job, but I guess you would have to to work in that industry. Hope everyone has a blessed week. This is Lacy's last week at her current daycare. I am still so torn but I am believing this is the right decision for now.

To move or not to move

Brad and I made a really hard decision the other day..to move Lacy from her current daycare. It has to be one of the hardest decisions we have had to make so far as parents. We felt she was lacking in some areas, where other children her age were excelling. After much consideration, praying, talking with other parents, family members, and friends we are moving Lacy. I cried and cried last night over my heartache of her leaving the only people she has really known outside of her family. She has been there since birth and loves all of her former teachers. I had been praying for God to show me what to do and this week it all just seemed to "fall" into place. So when you say your prayers, please say one of us. Lacy will start her new school on the 18Th.

What a Day

Oh my goodness was yesterday a day. Brad and I got up with Lacy around 3:30am because she was coughing so bad. I had an appointment with our ENT doctor, so I took her with me since her pediatrician is off on Thursdays. That was a lot of fun...both me and Dr Gordon had to hold her down for him to give her the one over. I felt horrible...as which I should I reckon. The only thing he suggested was different medicine. As for me, keep on with medicine he gave me to keep my headaches at bay. I have also been having some female/hormone issues...same ole thing just a different day..but they still wanted me to come in. Basically my abdomen is so swollen/bloated i look like I am 4 months pregnant. I have gained 8lbs in less than a week and it is all fluid. He gave me some fluid pills and told me to take those and if this happens again next month we will go from there.
I finally get home with Lacy(after picking her up from Momma's b/c I didn't get out of Dr Gebharts until 6pm) and we ate. Brad goes to the grocery store and I start laundry and vacuum then BAM...the power goes out. Long story short is what out for an hour and a half, Entergy was saying it would be after midnight..so thankfully Momma was very nice to have us come and spend the night...us as in Lacy & Ashley. Poor Bradley toughed it out until the power came back on.

Dark Knight

Well we celebrated cousin Landry's 1st birthday...it was such a cute party. Lacy had fun except for the Jumper thing..deathly afraid. Anyone who got near it that she knew, she would scream" NO" and motion for them to come on.
Momma kept Lacy last night, so Brad and I went to eat and saw Dark Knight. It was so good. Heath Ledger did an awesome job. So sad still about his death and all. While Brad and I were enjoying our time out, apparently, Lacy had a bad dream at Memaw's...so they had a pallet party from 11:30pm to 2:30am.
Still got the crud...I am coughing some kind of awful...Lacy too. If she is not better some by tomorrow, I guess we will go see Dr. Russell.
Hope you all are well and are staying out of the heat!

The Yucky Crud

Well we have all been sick since Friday. It started with Bradley...he started running fever Thursday night. By Sunday Lacy had fever so I took her to the after hours clinic since Brad was working. She had an ear infection which I am sure was brought on by the junk Brad had. Well by Tuesday it was my turn. Went to the doctor they said it was a sinus infection. By lunch I felt like a Mack Truck had run over me, backed up, and then ran over me again. Got home and had fever. When I dropped Prissy Pot off at daycare, her teacher was out with it and her lil buddy had a cotton ball in his ear because he has an ear infection. Dang that Yucky Crud. Its amazing though how fever can knock me and Brad down and doesn't even phase Lacy. The pic is of her playing Sunday night.
